OPEN ENROLLMENT NOTICE OF
CENTRAL CHINESE HIGH SCHOOL IN
AMERICA
(Effective from MARCH 4, 2018)
Our school is an overseas Chinese school run by the
Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association. It was founded in 1888 and
is the oldest Chinese language school established in the United States of
America.
To meet the demands and developments of the times, our school
teaches Putonghua (Mandarin), and uses the Chinese pinyin Romanized alphabets
in its instructions. In regards to Chinese characters, the school
continues to teach students the traditional Chinese characters, but the
emphasis is laid on requiring the students to recognize and write the
simplified Chinese characters, so as to prepare them to cope with
different needs and requirements.
